Dongola Association for Nubian Culture and Heritage Noban Ensemble for Literature and Arts

It was established in 2005, the year Khartoum was launched as the Capital of Arab Culture. The group is interested in the Sudanese heritage in general, and the Nubian heritage in particular. The band includes 6 artists, a large number of choir members, and dancers. The band participated in many international festivals and celebrations, the most prominent of which were: The Festival of Drums, Samaa Festival in Egypt, the Carthage Festival in Tunisia, the celebration of the Climate Change Conference, in Bonn, Germany, and celebrations in Morocco and Saudi Arabia. The Dongola Association and its Nuban band won a number of awards and medals, the most important of which are: The First Place in the National Council of Ireland and the United Kingdom, Tunisia’s Gold Medal, and the WIPO Gold Medal from the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva.
