St. Titus Chorus & Orchestra

GREECE

The ensemble was created in 2000 in Crete, Greece. It was established by Grandmaster Andreas Giakoumakis at the church of St Titos of Heraklion, Crete.

Its aims are twofold:

The promotion, dissemination and salvation of the Orthodox monophonic religious music of Greeks from the 3rd century until today.

Showing and performing songs created by the Greeks since the 12th century, living and developing their civilization in various areas both inside and outside Greece. These songs are usually accompanied by an orchestra of traditional instruments.

The “St. Titus Chorus and Orchestra” has participated in the Samaa Festival for the 3rd time.
