Drum Light Marching Ensemble


Founded by Prof. Ayman Ezz El-Din, Professor at the Faculty of Musical Education, with the help of both teaching assistants: Amr El-Alfi, who is the artistic director of the band, and Islam Magdy, who is the administrative director of the band. Inspired by military bands, it is considered the first marching band in Egypt. The group began presenting its performances in 2012, and the number of members of the band is now more than 30 musicians, all of them are colleges and conservatories’ graduates, including percussionists, brass instruments, guitar, org, and violin musicians. The band is one of the first Egyptian bands to include female percussionists. The music provided by the band combines oriental and western music in their various colors.
