National Folk Music Ensemble


Thanks to the artist Zakaria Hajawi, who made several trips in the villages of Egypt to collect popular artists made up of musicians, singers and dancers; which resulted in the formation of the first folklore group in Egypt named The Villagers. Then came researcher Suleiman Jamil, one of the musical intellectuals who were interested in popular music and in the formation of the National Music Band In 1993. The band consists of folk instruments that express the Egyptian folklore such as mouzmar, alrabab, algab, alsemsemeya, and other rhythmic instruments. The band presents forms of traditional folk songs along with other forms of creativity.
The National Folk Music Ensemble is one of the most important folk groups in Egypt, which toured the world, carrying the Egyptian folklore on the map of international culture and release it to humanity.
