The group was founded by the Ambassador of the Philippines in Cairo, depending on the sons of the first and second generation of the Filipino community residing in Egypt, with the aim of investing in the presence of a large number of Filipinos who settled in Egypt and married Egyptians; to display Filipino culture and revive official events and national celebrations organized by the embassy. The number of the band’s members exceeds 75 persons, including musicians, dancers and singers who are supervised by the ambassador’s wife. The band’s program is characterized by a great diversity between singing, dancing and other artistic activities that express the Filipino cultural identity. The group also presents a variety of artistic performances that reflect ancient folk tales and the blending of East and West that is uniquely characterized in the Filipino culture.
The group has previously performed on the theaters of the Egyptian Opera House and in many diplomatic events organized by the Philippine Embassy in Cairo
