The idea of the Ninth Symphony sparked in Beethoven's imagination when he read the German poet Schiller's Melody of Joy..
He spent 32 years thinking, writing, deleting and adding. Then, he finished composing it while he is completely deaf. He might not be able to hear but he surely sees the notes and imagines this magical world of
sounds and rhythms.
Beethoven, especially through the fourth choral movement of the Ninth Symphony, was able to sing to us a humanistic instrumental that transcends us in a cosmic moment full of mysticism… to become an anthem of love, tolerance and peace... for all the people on the earth...
