Ali Saad Moheeb

Educational Experiences

He is graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema, Animation Department in 1978. He completed his postgraduate studies in Massachusetts College of Arts and in School of Public communication, Boston University. In 1987, he has attained MFA from A Disney School for Animation in California Institute of the Arts – United States of America.

In 2001, he has attained a doctorate degree with a first honor grade from the Higher Institute of Cinema; in the cinema sciences under the title “Computer Animation Methods & Its Effect on the Animation Art”.

He has been promoted gradually in Studio Muhib till he has become the Studio’s manager then his partner. 

In 2007, he has been appointed a head of Graphic Center and Exhibitions Center.

In 2014, he has been appointed a head of Animation Department in the Higher Institute of Cinema.

Professional Experiences

He has worked in the United States of America during the period from 1984 to 1987 for the following: “Paramount Studio” in Hollywood, “DIC Inc. for Animation” in Hollywood, “Nemak and Hasette Co.” in Hollywood and “Arab – American Television” in Los Angeles.

He has become a teacher of Computer & Graphics in the Higher Institute of Cinema, Academy of Art, Faculty of Fine Arts, Minia University from 1999 to 2001, International Academy for Media Science from 2003 to 2005 and Faculty of Applied Arts, October 6 University from 2004 to 2006.

He has worked as a technical director in the American Advertising Agency in Egypt “AMA Leo Burnet “from 1988 to 1990; where he organized and directed, between Cairo and Beirut, a number of integrated advertising campaigns (Television, Posters, Printers) for many products provided by universal companies.

He has established a first production unit for the three - dimensional and graphic computer works in Egypt inside Studio Muhib in 1989; where he designed, carried out and directed, between Cairo, Jeddah and London, 170 graphic, publicity and short works.

Awards “21 Prizes” for the Following Works:

Film (Kan Yama Kan) – Animated cartoon, 8 minutes, a graduation project – has gotten the Golden Award as well as the Critics Award for the best work of art in the Ismailia Festival for the Short and Documentary Films, 1980. It has also been gotten a certificate of appreciation from the Higher Institute of Cinema as well as a certificate of appreciation (Mohamed Kareem) from the Academy of Art, 1980.  -   He has directed the film “An Ant”, the first film in “Animated Words” series – 8 minutes, produced by the Studio Muhib – and has been given the Innovation Prize as the best director as well as the Golden Prize in the Television and Radio Festival in 2002. Moreover, he has gotten the Golden Prize by the Ministry of Culture and the World Bronze Prize in the thirteenth session of the Cairo International Festival for Child Cinema in 2002.  - He has directed the film “Donkey”, the second film in “Animated Words” series – 9 minutes – and has been given the Golden Prize by the Ministry of Culture in the fourteenth session of the Cairo International Festival for Child Cinema in 2003.  -      He has directed the film “Boxing”, the last one in “Animated Words” series – 5 minutes, produced by the Studio Muhib – and he has gotten the Golden Prize by the Ministry of Culture and the World Bronze Prize in the fourteenth session of the Cairo International Festival for Child Cinema in 2004. Then, he has gotten the Best Animated Film Prize from the eleventh session of the National Festival for Egyptian Cinema in 2005.
