  • Mazurian Song and Dance Ensemble

    Mazurian Song and Dance Ensemble from Poland. It was founded in 2001. We present the folklore of various Polish regions perform in different costumes. It consists of 150 people and it can be divided into six groups: band and five dancing groups. Both young people and elderly ones alike play, sing and dance in their free time.

    During 16 years, we participated in 52 festivals in 24 countries, representing Poland and its culture.

    Among others: China, Morocco, Portugal, Korea, England, Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and many, many more.

    The band was established in the Indonesian capital Jakarta in 2003 by Nur Akhiari to comprise a large number of students interested in traditional arts and music.  At the beginning, the band only performed religious songs. Owing to its great success after moving to Cairo and joining the groups performing at Kubbet Al-Ghouri under the management of Entissar Abdel-Fattah, the group started to present all types of Indonesian heritage. The band’s uniqueness lies in its performance of music using human vocals instead of instruments and for singing in Arabic and English as well through Acapella type of music.

  • The ‘’Vahagn’’ Drummers Ensemble

    The ‘’Vahagn’’ Drummers Ensemble was founded in 1998 in Yerevan. Over the years, the number of students has reached  over 100. The ensemble’s ultimate goal was to merge Armenian ethnic musical instruments with modern drums. The ensemble is distinguished by its originality, using ethnographic and modern drums, dance and rhythmic creations. The ensemble participated in all state events of the Republic of Armenia. In 2005, the ensemble performed in the United States and Canada. Then the ensemble had concerts in Moscow Kremlin Hall. In 2017 the ensemble took part in the competition in Georgia, won the Grand Prix and returned to the homeland with the 1st honorable prize.

    We are a group of artists with an interest in heritage. On March 1st 1997, we formed a cultural and artistic group interested in researching and collecting the Algerian heritage from old folk lyrics, tunes, dances and drums, in addition to popular folklore and traditional Zarabi performance.

    We present these works in a unique and beautiful artistic framework in a manner that keeps abreast of the developments while preserving the authenticity of such works through participation in local and international forums through presenting performs that help to introduce our heritage and art in various Arab and European countries.

Since November 2011, UNESCO registered mariachi music as a member of the representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

    Boduberu evolved among common citizens. It is performed by about 20 people, including 3 drummers and a lead singer. They are accompanied by a small bell, a set of drums and a onugandu. The songs may be of heroism, romance or satire. The costume of the performers is a sarong and a white short sleeved shirt. Harubee brings a progressiveness to the art that has not only been absent but had not even been conceived of before. The group is currently recording an album, pushing the progression further with their new songs.     It was founded in 1969 with an aim to introduce Estonian folk dances and music to tourists. Leigarid regularly perform at the Estonian Open-Air Museum in Tallinn

    Leigarid performs dances, songs, games and instrumental music, collected from all over Estonia. Most part of them is social dances from different historical layers. Games, played during the performance, usually have a narrative that is understandable even without any knowledge of Estonian language. The costumes as well as the dances and music, reflect the temporal and individual variability of Estonian traditions.

    It is a folkloric dance group affiliated to Donkla Association for Nubian Culture and Heritage.  It is a very popular group in Sudan which participated in numerous domestic and international events, most importantly Al Khartoum.. The Capital of Arab Culture at Al Khartoum International Fair and the Drums of Peace Festival. It participated abroad at Cairo International Fair in its 40th, 41st and 42nd rounds, Drums for Peace Festival in Cairo in 2013 and 2014, Tunis International Festival, Climate Change Conference in Marrakesh in 2016, African Summit in Addis Ababa in 2017 and Aswan International Festival in 2018.

This renders the group unique, as the performers from each area reflect the finest details of folkloric dances, thereby preserve heritage, while adding fine touches and developing traditional costumes.  Some of the local events in which the Saudi group participated are the National Festival for Heritage and Culture (Elganadria), Tourism Activation Festival (Abha, Elbaha, Jeddah), Riyadh Holidays Festival, reception of official delegations with folkloric dances. The Group participated in events abroad in each of Berlin, Germany, the UNESCO in France, Brazil, Turkmenistan Azerbaijan, Egypt, Japan, Moroco, UAE, Korea, Canada and the UK.
