Samaa’ .. unity of the body and soul
If the music in general is a voice that lets the soul fly to higher horizons, then the spiritual music dives with the human inside the Sufi oceans that are free from all life desires.
From here, comes out interest in Samaa’ international festival for spiritual music which gathers a huge number of people of this special type of music. It also gathers musicians from all over the world, to fly together in Cairo’s sky. Cairo with its mosques and churches is a model of unity of the body and soul, as well as the harmony of music with its instrumentalists and listeners.
Our country gives major interest in these artistic events as it reflects the society’s civility, for who listens to music elevates above modern problematics and challenges it with culture and enlightenment.
We are all hopeful that this session would be fruitful, and achieves what it aims for. I also can’t miss welcoming Egypt’s dear guests, wishing them a delightful stay, so welcome in the land of love and peace.

Samaa’ Festival… and the interfaith forum
Celebrating the international day of tourism
Samaa’ festival for chanting and spiritual music along with the interfaith forum “Here We Pray Together” is considered a market and a cultural touristic product that is so special.
It goes beyond the cultural difference boundaries to create a harmony and a connection between people from all over the world through the artistic international workshop by the artist Mr. Entissar Abdelfattah, the founder and president of the festival. The festival is a cultural touristic platform that could be marketed all over the world.
Perhaps this festival’s vision would match with the ministry of tourism’s vision and concept which it will adopt in the next recent time through its campaign “People to People” that cares most about the human connection, in which the whole world will get to know the Egyptian people and their traditions, the creativity of its youth in arts, music, and culture.
There is no doubt that festivals like Samaa’ present to the world a side of this creativity.
The festival became an international platform that is highly ranked among people from all over the world, and its activations take place in touristic and historic destinations which led to the increased attention from the ministry of tourism, adding it to the touristic international agenda of festivals. The festival celebrates the international day of tourism every year in which the international association of tourism invites people from all over the world with different ages to celebrate by participating in this event, as well as celebrating the international day of peace to ensure the concept of love and forgiveness and peace and connection between all the people.

Cultures Dialogue for Peace
At Salah El Din Citadel, we hear the sounds of different cultures singing together as if it were a significant message that Egypt is immortal with its great heritage embraced by humanity. Today Egypt has proven its capability to be void of conflict and struggle. Egypt advocates tolerance, with art being the best means of expressing and calling for tolerance.
We have been pleased at the Ministry of Antiquities to host this international event out of our belief in integration with the Ministry of Culture, which allows for antiquities to be embellished by art and creativity.
I am confident that these international artistic and cultural events are the first line of defence which should be given attention to during this critical time in our country. The message carried through art sums up the endless papers of protocols and political and social analyses.
My deep appreciation goes to those in charge of the Festival, wishing all the best for the groups who are Egypt’s dear guests. We hope you have a good stay and enjoyable encounters on this land of peace and tolerance, which carries the motto given by the great artist Entissar Abdelfattah ‘Cultures Dialogue for Peace’.

Let’s listen to see! Let’s see to listen!
The dream has been realized and the idea has turned into reality
We are on a legendary journey, similar to a Sufi universal mass, where legend and reality blend, and voices become homogeneous and unite, to stress a unique moment, which is the moment of human communication and the profound sense of religion in its universal sense.
The spring of religion in Egypt always aimed at elevating the soul towards the light… Egypt has always been a blessed land commended by Adam and Noah, to which came the father of all profits Ibrahim and from which came the great grandfather of Arabs Ismail. The country in which Joseph was raised, Moses was born and passed away, to which Jesus Christ, son of Maria, resorted, and from where Prophet Mohamed, the last messenger, married. The tenth round of Samaa International Festival for Spiritual Music and Chanting is held in 2017 under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture with its different sectors, the Ministry of Antiquities and the Foreign Ministry with the main purpose to act as a platform for becoming familiarized with the arts and cultures of different peoples and religious heritage in its different forms worldwide to ascertain the main message of all religions.
Voices merge and unite at a humanistic moment beyond the horizons, performing a magnificent universal note, expressing love, tolerance and peace.
